A progressive spearhead: Larry Krasner, Philadelphia DA

This documentary screening and panel discussion is convened by GLEPHA institutional member, Fair and Just Prosecution.

This session is currently scheduled for W22 (Day 3, Wednesday 24th March at 5 PM-6:30 PM EST)

Over the course of eight episodes, Philly D.A. — a new docu-series premiering on PBS this spring — provides an inside look at the reform-minded prosecutor movement through the eyes of Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. With unprecedented access to DA Krasner’s office, the series explores some of the most pressing social issues of our time — police brutality and accountability, the opioid crisis, issues impacting children and young adults in the justice system, and addressing mass incarceration — as new bold leaders work to transform the criminal legal system from the inside. During this panel, you’ll get a sneak preview of the series and hear from DA Krasner and the film team about how the documentary came to be, what it says about the current state of criminal justice reform, and where the reform-minded prosecutor movement is headed.
