We are excited about the 6th International Law Enforcement & Public Health Conference, and hope you are too. To share our excitement, we have developed some key messages that you can use as well. There are also tips to promote themes and issues that are important to you below.

Helping to promote LEPH2021 and associated activities

3. Engage and share posts from LEPH2021 on Facebook
4. Share key messages, facts and figures, and resources about each of the daily themes on your own social media feeds, newsletters and websites
5. Check the GLEPHA calendar for virtual LEPH2021 and GLEPHA events you are interested in joining (TBC)
6. Share your thoughts on social media about the events you are attending using #LEPH2021 #LEPH

Key messages

• LEPH2021: Defying Boundaries, is a call to action for policy-makers, practitioners and researchers to transgress the structures, cultures, and traditions that get in the way of aligning law enforcement and public health missions that are driven by the needs, values and concerns of the people they serve
• Defying boundaries involves re-imagining cross-sector accountability for community safety and wellbeing. 
• Defying boundaries involves the practical work of redistributing responsibilities across systems through a lens focused on racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and gender equity.  
• Defying boundaries involves the practical work of redistributing responsibilities across systems through a lens focused on racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and gender equity. 
• Community safety and well-being can be enhanced through careful selection of interventions from fields, such as public health and law enforcement.
• Marginalization is the enemy of security and health for all.
• Collaborative leadership to address complex social issues is necessary to share and negotiate control and oversight both between sectors and with external stakeholders and community leaders. 
• Barriers to collaboration include boundaries between disciplinary structures, professional cultures, traditions and rivalries, workloads and work practices and sheer inertia.
